Our digital camera will take short movies in Quick Time format. I've been able to convert these movies to MPEG, however they are still too large to email. Is there any way to compress MPEG's to reduce the file size? I'd like a free software program if possible.

You can use WinMPG to convert MOV -> MPG (but yu need a registered version for the 11th + movies) or, maybe, there's a plugin for TMPGenc (free if you don't want to load MPEG-2 files!).
As for making a VCD (or a KVCD), read http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/110106 (VCD) and http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/124272 .
    (KVCD)
Read the 'poll' http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/126073 if you need a suggestion on the kind of (K)VCD it's better to make.
But, alas, 1 min VCD = 1 MB ; about 1 min KVCD = 0.6 MB about (it depends on the movie). You won't be able to email them unless ther are very short!
