MPEG to AVI (DV-CODEC) using VirtualDub

    I'm using virtualDub 1.4.8 and trying to convert MPEG file to an AVI file using SONY-DV compression style. I get the message "Unable to start video compression error: bad format(-2)".
    Has anyone faced similar problem? What's the solution?

    I got the same error (using a different DV codec). My codec only supported 720 x 480, so I added a "resize" filter, and it worked just fine.

    I downloaded the MainConcept DV codec demo, so I get the nice logo at the top of all my videos. I'm not paying $50 for a codec, so do you know of a cheaper/free DV codec?
