MSI error

    I have an error message and i dont know how to get rid of it? When windows starts up it starts up windows installer and then an error message comes up saying "MSI must be launched through setup" any ideas what this is and how to get rid of it?

    Could try all the startup keys in reg. hklm & hklu->Software\microsoft\windows\current version\run.

    Don't forget HU ->HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1078081533-1993962763-1060284298-1003\software\microsoft\windows\current version\run. That key is often overlooked and is where you find the stubborn programs. You know the ones you remove from everywhere else but they still manage to startup.

    Im sure you looked in the startup folder already. Just sounds to me that something is set to start up at boot. And when does this newbie lable go away?

    Are you using Norton by chance ? Or did you have Norton and the trial period is over ?
