Hey everyone, I`ve been having a real headache trying to get some music vids from avi to .divx.

I want to play them in my divx player (note: divx player NOT dvd player)

Whenever i try any programs which claims to do it, it outputs it in another .avi format and it doesnt play, I have checked all the options in such programs and made sure divx was selected for the codec etc, but it just doesnt play.

Can someone help and suggest a program I could use for it, or tell me where Im going wrong :p

    Cheers Marc

Have you looked at the DivX converter, available in the Divx
    "create" bundle.

    Try divxmuxwiz:
    http://support.divx.com/anonymous_portal/FAQSearch.aspx?entityId=Q6UJ9A0006FE

Does your divx player not play avi files? The containers
are almost identical, except .divx files have been extended to
allow them to contain a menu and imbedded (soft) subtitles.

I have a DVD player hooked up to my TV. It only plays xvid/divx
    files with the .avi extension.
The strange thing is, if I use Divxmuxwiz to add
soft subs, then rename the resulting .divx file to .avi, my 3 year
old DVD player is quite happy to play it, and with working soft subs!
