    Hi

I downloaded a movie with the title XXXXX.MVCD.mpg
(I have noticed a lot of similar titles at the time I was downloading)

But the only thing regarding MVCD that I could find on a google search was in regard to Mole VCD and it made a reference to TMPGEnc.

Unfortunately I am not technically minded and there was no real information available in the search results.

Perhaps someone with knowledge of this could point me in the right direction. I apologize if this seems a stupid request, but I cannot find information that will clarify this subject.

    Thank you.

    Sorry.

I have attempted to open using Nero Showtime, Alcohol 120%, WMP & vlc (Video Lan). I have also attempted to see what codecs are required by using AfreecodecVT, Gspot & ClonyXXL.

All programs show an error, as not recognizing the file format.

    I wish to:
    1) Play the file on my PC, and (if possible)
    2) Re-encode to be able to burn the file as a DVD (VOB files, etc)

These are mpeg-1 files and should show as such in GSpot or playback with the PC software player.
Nero should have no problem with them.
TMPGenc is used to create them - they are non standard VCD files.
    Suspect you have corrupted files.
