    Greetings,

I have owned a Memorex True 8X DVD +/-RW player for quite some time. Everytime I used my Memorex 4X media, it burned at 4X which is of course what I expected. Now I have started to use TDK and Verbatim 4X media due to hearing many bad things about Memorex on this site. Both TDK and Verbatim are being detected as 6X discs using InCD and DVDXCopy. They are buring faster than my Memorex 4X discs did. So far I have not noticed a problem but is this common? I just want to make sure this would not cause a problem, incase there is something I have not noticed. Has anyone else bought 4X media that was able to be written at 6X successfully?

    Thanks for any information!

    Hi,

Some of the 8X drives have firmwares that will allow them to write at higher speeds with quality 4X media so this may be the case when you switched to the better media :)
