MY CD drive wont recognise audio CDs but does movie DVDs

    Hi, Ive read the forum rules and searched and there doesnt seem to be any info on a CD drive not recognising audio cds.

    I tried to backup a cd however the drive didnt respond once an original audio cd was inserted.However on testing if it was the hardware it responded to a movie dvd.

    The drive is a IDE-DVD-ROM-616 cmpaq presario AMD Sempron 3000+

    I realy am stumped as Ive tried troubleshooting in the help area and on the internet.

    Any help would be much apreciated!

    Have you tried to put the cd in the rom and then restart your pc.

    UNINSTALL UR DRIVER AND REINSTALL THAT WILL SOLVE IT
