my computer going nuts with a huge virus??

    i have a massive virus on my computer

    which i cant get rid of

    i try getting anti virus but the virus is stopping it

    is there any chance u can tell me how to rebootmy computer and start it fresh again pleese

    help

    its windows xp

    please help urgent

    get an XP or vista installation disk. put it in and reboot he PC. format the HDD and install a fresh copy.

    also try using a restore point before you go to that extreme.

    if you want to try to get rid of the virus, post a hijack this log, like waymon said, otherwise, get a windows XP disk, put it in the drive, press F10 (might be different for your motherboard) while it is booting to boot from CD and reformatting should be straightforward from there

    Is it only me that would probably advise him to try and boot into safe mode and attempt to back up his most important data before performing a full re-format?!?
