    @ozzy- fat lotta good that will do,the way he's doing it now will teach him how to fix it next time as well as any of his friends comps and he'll be "DA MAN",

    @pj
    Type it into IE search and it will locate the folder,at least that's the theory :p

    Hey scorpy I resent that. I been here a lot longer than you if you noticed that Im a senior member. TWo I dont steal. And three....if you notice in my sig, my main comp is probally 4 times the machine that most people round here. I only want to help. I got 6 machines fully operational in my living room. Why would I have to scalp parts? I got a computer's all the way from 1994 up to present that still run.

    Now that your in place, buzz off. If this person needs the help they can pm me. But dont you dare call someone a thief when you dont know them..... I am trying to help and 20.00 a hour is a lot cheaper than a 75.00 a hour. Two if it was a 5 minute fix its free....

    LMFAO- Yeah i have a way with words don't i,italics are used in all of my posts *winks* Accept my apologies for offending you by not putting a pokie tongue in that comment to more elaborate of what i was saying as i am aware you have offered help to others with comp probs in other posts a cple of months back (edited original post)

    My first part of the comment stands he needs to attempt repair himself before giving up as he's almost there except for the original problem which could involve hardware diagnosis and is not quite as simple as software probs or at least that's what i've found

    @dolphin2 - no hijack will happen...lol...

    Yes I agree, but by reading the post I feel its out of the scope to repair it herself or hiself. Best thing is bring it to someone to do a complete virus cleaning and then figure out why the drive isnt working. To me by reading the post it seems the burner is shot or possibly the ide cable or even worst case scenario mobo is dead. Thats why I suggested if he or she would like someone to look at is all...

    No hard feelings though, but next time look before bit*hing..LOL!

    Im been away many months and back to try to help now....

    To find the temp file go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Windows Explorer.

    Now click to open the following:
    My Computer
    C:
    Documents and Settings
    tami
    Local Settings
    Temp

    All of the files in the Temp directory are what we are trying to get rid of. Remember if there are a couple that won't delete that is fine. We are just trying to get rid of the junk in your machine. Remember after you remove these items to empty the recycle bin!

    Wow this thread is long and we haven't even got to the root of the problem. What do you expect, another 5 pages:)

    No! Nothing even close to that. The system is almost clean, only a few stray things remain. Then we can work on the other porblems.

    @ petjelly

    You may not be able to view the folder because it is hidden. On the menu [bold]inside windows explorer[/bold] select Tools -> folder options and a window will pop up. Under the tab "View" you will see a folder called, "hidden files and folders", select the "Show hidden files and folders" bullet and then select "Apply" button at the bottom. After that you may select OK and all files and folders will be in view.

    Hope you are still with us! Let us know how things are going on your end. Thanks:)

    Delete all those 020 items. Post another log after.
    This should do it and you'll have a clean log!

    You still don't have a firewall running. Suggest you get one ASAP.

    After this we can go onto you original problem.

    If you go to download.com there are several free firewalls.

    We have been wondering what happened to you. Glad to have you back. Your system is almost clean so we should be able to get back on the original track soon.

    If you have a junk mail folder check it to make sure that AD threads are not going to it.

    @-Petjelly go grab zonealarm free version firewall ,if you find zonealarm website awkward to navigate cruise over to download.com it'll be listed under security,it works well i've just installed it and have been running it for the past week and i hate to admit it but norton pales in comparison.

    EDIT: D'oh ! just clik on the link that this site just made in my post

    Just recently my speakers are not working. Dammit. This has happened alot before. They work for a while. Then they decides to stop working for a while. Ive always asked qeustons but have never been able solve the problem. They ususally start working when they wanna work. And i dont know how long that could be. So now my driver doesn't work. And now my speakers dont work.

    Today i just took the right side of my monitor off. I gotta good look at it. Very dusty *spider webs* covered all of inside of it. I tried to clean it out. I saw my fans. They were very dusty. I dont have anything of a can that sprays air. I had to get a flashlight to see my fans(thats how bad it is) I dont think a can that sprays air can get them clean. It looks like it might have to be clean by hand. I wanted to ask you guys first before i do anything to it. I saw that there were screws on 4 sides of the case that walls the fan. I want to take that off so i can clean the fans with a q-tip or cloth. Im not an expert at computers but it doesn't look like anything will break if i take the fan wall off to get to the fan blades. So....should i do it or not?
