Problem My iPhone 7 Plus wattsapp chats have an icon next to them

I was shown how to use the status feature yesterday, didnt change any settings that I remember, but today all the chats have an icon next to them, does anyone know how I can disable this please ?

 

I'm only replying to bump your question. Is there anything related in the Settings on that page?

No I’ve been through all the settings phone and wattsapp, wattsapp support are useless, I think it’s a new feature, but they can’t just confirm or dem, now they have raised it with technical, if it’s a feature just need a way to disable it….so hard to contact FB wattasapp Microsoft BBC etc. gone are the days when you could just phone them.
