I'm using Recode 2 to put movies on my PSP. it's been perfect...but...the darn things are too damn quiet. Is there a way in Recode 2 to bump up the volume?

    Hello.

For some reason, a bug I guess, Recode has a tendency to lower the volume. You can try dumping the video into NeroVision and amp it up there. I think this will work but you'll lose any menus.

    Make a DVD-Video.
    Import the DVD into NeroVision.
    Edit the clip
In the event/timeline below the clip preview window, right click on the clip and select Properties.
There should be a sound volume slider in the window that pops up.

There is supposedly a registry hack that will amp up the volume but people are disagreeing whether it works, but I'll pass it on anyway:

You can also demux the audio from the video and amp it up:

There are also other commercial programs like CloneDVD Mobile from Slysoft and others from ImToo and Xilisoft that might work better. I don't know. Perhaps someone with more experience with portable devices can chime in and help you.
