My Starview box will not power up.

My starview box will not power up. I bought from sales@starviewbox.co.uk

My friend had updated softwear on his machine to API version 4.00e_E. His box ran perfectly. When we updated software on my box codes were not corrected when installed.I input previous codes and signal was restored and operated correctly for 2 days.
Then when I used the EPG button to check programmes, the picture froze and I could not restore programme with the remote set. I changed the battery but still could not restore. I tried buttons on the box but was not able to change picture on the TV. I unplugged the unit from the mains, and since then now power on the box, no signal from the box to the TV, or no display on the box display , no light or "On" display.
The power 3 pin plug, had a 2 pin plug inside, which I connected
directly to the power, still no power apparent, so not due to failure of the 5 Amp fuse in the 3 pin plug.

Can you help me? Is there some fuse inside the box that I may be able to replace? Or have I suffered this failure due to the programme upgrade on a clone machine?

 

You have a clone box that needs to be J-Tagged.Any firmware above 2.59 is certain death for a clone. Where are you located ???

 

Box bought in UK. I live in Dublin.

To send him a pm go to compose private meesage at the top of the page and type his name, (exactly as I have spelt it), in the box that appears, then type your query.

i'm having exactly the same problem as described, i live in the Notts area of UK, is there anyone i could send this clone box to so it can be jtagged, many thanks in advance.

 

dont know of anyone in uk, but it only costs about £10 to ship it over to Ireland ( i think) so it would be worth contacting fergusrb about it !

First off thanks for all your help to date. I to got my genuine THE BOX from sales@starview.co.uk and now I am having a bit of trouble with one of them. It will not power on?? I have two that are working fine but this one (my brothers) will no longer power on. What do you think the cause is?

hi first can you tell me if your box has 18 or 25 vents on the top of it as the clone box has 18 vents did it die after updating the software on it or what happened to it thanks

 

Hi check the starview section to find out if you have a clone?
Its quiet easy to JTAG using a nonpowered type and all the software is in the forum if you want I will send all the info I have using both Skymax which is easy to use and all the software?

 

Sorry for the very late reply. My BOX has 25 vents times 7. Went to put it on and no power? It was working earlier that day??

First of all check if it's a clone do this so you will find out how to look around the forum as I had to If you do it this way you will find it easy as you will find out what is what;so first let me know is it a clone dont count the vents check pictures on the forum all is there?

 

The box he has is an original there where no clones made with 25 vents only 18 as he said his has 25

13 vents 1st generation box

18 vents clone box

25 vents genuine box
