My sentiments exactly. Many thanks lads & ladies. Here's hoping it's not the beginning of the end

Patience is most definitely a virtue in this case.

Come on chaps, ultimately nothing on Earth is un-crackable.... it's just a matter of time.

    So chill.

Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

As any computer scientist or cryptographer worth his salt knows, relying on a "secret" algorithm invariably fails as it's just program code sitting inside a machine i.e. very easy to reverse engineer. I'd say nagra provides security through obscurity and nothing else. It will be cracked

What worries me about the whole thing is no one has managed to crack S*y yet, so I've a feeling it'll be years before Nagra 3 gets cracked :-( . I suppose all good/great things come to an end

box is bunched and needs now to be jtaged as it must be a clone box and the firmware you loaded onto it has now killed it

well how come krypt has a file done

that is down to other manufacturers to do that

The N2 UPC card for Switzerland (cablecom) was cracked in summer 2008. Its not a big surprise that the N2 card for UPC Irland is cracked now.
    N3 is a different question.

yep true have a little faith in the people thats all that is needed people thought that the cable boxes would not work on this and only the linux based ones would

that theory has been busted with the linux boxes now trailing behind the plain cable box and still no sign of a fix for them either

nothing is impossible if you give it time
