the definition of sports...im not sure. but what i can tell u is i like to play golf, fish, baseball, horseshoes, darts, bowling, offroading(4x4), hunting (and yes i eat what i kill) and water skiing. however i like to watch racing, basketball, football (u.s.), and hockey. call me crazy, but its me. i think i need to quit while im ahead, this is starting to sound like a 3rd rate dating service or something.

Ok, I got one for you guys, it's called Takraw. They play it in Thialand. It's like a crazy mix between volleyball, hackey sack, and some form of karate. Go Google it...

"Sport: an active diversion requiring physical exertion and competition"

    ...What don't you get?

Then in that case masturbating is a sport too..

    Put on film
    exert yourself
attempt to reach the finale before film ends.....

It's simply a matter of just because YOU don't deem a "sport" to be a "sport", does not mean it isn't.

It's good to have opinions. I am an opinionated person, but one must have focus on the reality of the opinion.

I really feel that's left to the realm of semantics, though. As a language evolves, words change in meaning. It's unlikely, but I could just be ahead of the curve. :p

I would say that to be elitist, I would typically have to include myself in the elite, which I don't. Otherwise, I just have high standards what qualifies (as listed, again, previously in my personal definition) as a sport. Does NASCAR meet the dictionary definition of a sport? Yes. Are there people that don't consider it a sport? Yes. Why? Because it fails to hold up to the standards of other activities which they do consider sport.

This thread really isn't much of a serious one. Quit coming in here and arguing over opinions--it's pointless. At least present a nice, extensive, comical post like I did earlier...it contributes something besides "oh you're wrong and that means you're stupid and elitist."

    GOYHH.

Now neph.. It could be considered a sport from more than one viewpoint..

You can get pleasure from the doing.. and the woman can get pleasure from a well aimed 5" stiletto to the groin area, and then the great pleasure of a face looking out, still in pain from the back of the cop van.

Only kidding.. I wouldn't report you.. just gentle you up a bit and lock you in my cellar for further "entertainment" later.. looolz

I don't think anyone recalls the made for TV sport run by ABC TV called "The Superstars" or something like that? As I recall, more auto racers performed pretty poorly. Granted driving in a Car of Today isn't easy, but the aren't in the shape that most professional athletes are in, motor sports is mostly mental, not physical, like golf.

maybe because they're trained for endurance not speed... its not like they're running around the track themselves. The fact as that these guys are racing in full fire suits, in 100 degree weather to the point where it reachs 130 in the car makes them not athletic? These guys could outperform us athletically and endurally anyday...
