hi can anyone please help me :'( ive been frustrated with this r4ds thing for the last 3days now! ugh! i bought mine from r4ds-ds.com and got the R4 Ultra SDHC /w Kingston 4GB Micro SDHC. it says on the site that this item is supplied from r4ultra.com ive tried several kernels now to no avail. version 1.53 is the latest i think. can anyone guide me exactly through what i should do? ive tried the panasonic formatter too. nothing works as im still stuck on loading screen! ugh!!! help before i explode with frustration!!!

Other option is to go to the link mentioned by Kittymat where there are downloads for all the various versions of R4 cards, hopefully one of them will work.

It really depends on what version of the R4 card you have, but there's a help site (and believe it or not, there's no buy buttons on it!) at www.r4dsrevolution.co.uk that gives downloads for I think the original R4 card and also one of the ones that accepts high capacity memory.

They have a help guide or two that may solve your problem - at least I hope it does!

 

Hiya, I've read through all this and can't find anyone with the same problem as me, hope someone can help. I'm useless at this technical stuff!

I bought an R4DS Revolution V2 + 1GB MicroSD Card from NintendoDSR4.co.uk. No disc came with it so I downloaded the kernel v1.18, unzipped the files onto the card and created a folder called Games and moved games to there.
When I turn on my DS I get the R4 screen, I can then choose the Game option and select the game I want. Sometimes I get the wee intro to the game or the option to choose the language etc and then it crashes. Bet there is something stupid I have missed. Help!

 

unfortunately for you V2 is not the original R4 it is a clone, it probably requires different operating firmware (1.18 is for the original R4 not V2) look at the site in my signature and there are 14 R4 softwares to choose from, try to locate the appropriate one, if it does not work - format the SD card and start again with a different one

 

Cheers Kittymat, I've emailed the website I got it from to find out which firmware I should use, just waiting on them getting back. Dont't really have the time or energy to go through all the types on the link you gave me but a huge thanks for the link though, if I psyche myself up maybe I'll have a go.

 

still cant get it to work, its definately an r4 ultra sdhc cartridge and the software for it doesnt work! :'(

 

Hang on. There's definitely clashing information here!

Right...

- R4v2 (it is not the ORIGINAL R4 in the sense that it no longer has a spring Micro-SD mechanism, but it CAN take the original firmware)
- R4 SDHC
- R4 Ultra
- R4v3

are DIFFERENT CARDS. First step first - recognise and remember this!

Secondly, for the R4v2 or the R4 SDHC, the latest firmware should be available from http://www.R4DSRevolution.co.uk.

 

i am using the r4 ultra sdhc, with a 4gb hdsc kingston memory card. ive tried installing its software from r4ultra.com but its just stuck on the loading screen! help!

I'm using an R4-III upgrade. Supports SCHD I've got a 4gb mircoschd by Sansdisk, and I've tried nearly every firmware posted on these pages =(
Anyone any ideas?

 

hi, i have just bought an R$ SDHC which was supposed to have the correct firmaware preloaded, i put games on it and put it into my ds lite and the first couple of times it worked brilliantly and i played on the games but now it wont got past the black loading screen, ive tried formatting the card and puttin firmware i found recommended on here on it but it hasnt worked and i think i may have broke it completely, i here good things about pugwash and i know he has fixed quite a few of your problems, i was just wondering if i would be able to send u my email pugwash and you could maybe help me too it would be greatly appreciated. widget10, send me your email address and i will sort out the problem your currently having. If you send me a private message, no one will see your email unless you want them to view.

When you send me your email, please let me know what code you have on the back of your DS. Does it start with a 'UG' or 'UE'. This does make some difference as there are different bases for the DS.

i have the same problem of the freezing loading screen.
when i got it in it worked perfectly until i putted kernel 1.25 over it.
from there it was freezing the loading screen.
here is what i have:
R4 SDHC adapter
4gigabyte Kingston memory

i have already put the versions 1.22,1.23,1.24,1.25 on it and it still doesnt work.

can somebody please help me?
