NDSL R4 SDHC 2GB/4GB Loading Screen (**NO Email posting or banned**)

I've been fighting with my R4 for a while now but Pugg fixed all my problems and even got back to my email within an hour of me sending it!

Ignore all the other links to Kernels, etc. and just email him!

Hey Pugg could you help me out as well please? I just bought the R4i in the black box from dealextreme and when I tried to load the firmware from r4i.cn and r4 ultra they all freeze at the loading screen. I am using a DS lite at the moment with a 2GB PNY microsd. I am going to pick up a DSi pretty soon though.. email me at *email removed*

I'm lost, i have tried everything. The only thing i get is loading or ?menu.
Ihave tried every firmware you have given on this topic and still nothing works. The paper that comes with the card says R4-SDHC Upgrade (www.r4i-sdhc.com) i tried all the versions on this website and every version on linfoxdomain.com.

Really nothing works and i'm getting very depressed. I have a kingston 4gb sdhc in addition to this but i also have a 2 gb Sandisk card which will neither work.

Can someone please please help me before i start to cry...on the back of my ds it says model no. usg-001.

i hope i will ever play games...

Why not save yourself a lot of grief, read this and other forums - the R4 in all 15 differnet forms is a nightmare, once working most are OK - HOWEVER, the getting it working is the problem.

Don't take my word for it read and read some more - buy an R4 and it could be a big waste of money, when there are plenty of excellent cards out there already , with great reputations, why buy a card that was named purely to make you think its great - I mean all 15 R4 cards - which one is good and which is a waste of money.

How many versions of the R4 card are there proper? I used http://www.R4DSRevolution.co.uk to sort out my R4 card from a while back, but they only talk about about 6 versions (3 of which they recommend), but 15!? This is getting massive!!

Oh, and I don't think the R4v2 is a 'clone'. It's the same as the original R4 card, just with the spring mechanism removed - still made by the same dudes!

 

I bought 2 R4 cards a while ago and they were working fine under V1.18 firmware. I then wanted bigger storage so I upgraded from Sandisk 2GB to Patriot 4GB MicroSD and now suffer from the "cant get past the loading screen" issue. Anyone have have any idea?

 

Hi,

The diference between SD cards is that they will not all accept the same software.
Using a 2gb card once then upgrading to a higher card does not mean you can use the same software. It does not work that way, unfortunetly.

There are several versions kicking out there that will be useful for many SD cards. You will have to try a selected few to see if your card picks up the information, hopefully it should.

hi i have been reading this thread and i have a r4sdhc it as been working since christmas and last week i just thought id stick a few more games on it has 2gig card in well games went on but since then i just get loading screen i have tried all diffrent firmwares no luck after reading this thread i was wondering if there who is somebody on here can help i see a guy name pug seems to be the man in the know can you pleasde help

Hi,When you upgrade the new kernel ,please don't cover it directly, You'd better to format the TF card first ,and then copy the new kernel to your TF card. After downloading and decompressing the new updated files, copy all files to the root directory of memory card to replace the former files,i hope this can help you!

There are tons of versions kicking out there but alot with different versions do the same thing.

Some versions are generated to run on different R4's.

Tell me which R4 you both have,(ie R411, R4111, R4SDHC etc)I will be able to sort it out for you.

Topman, you said the card was working but when you loaded other games to the R4 it just brought up the 'Loading' screen. Did you delete the games that affected the card and did it work or not.

Everyone out there, there are some new games that can be downloaded but will not play on the R4 due to the system being updated which Nintendo are trying to stop copying.

If you have a game and it affects your console by showing you cannot save the game when playing or have any other faults apart from the 'Loading' screen showing up, I have the software to solve most of the faults.

Anyone who requires it, need to let me know what the issues are with their DS, what DS they have (DS, DS Lite etc. What R4 type card they have and what SD card they have, including the size.

How do you figure out which kind of R4 you have?

On the box you got the R4 from it will show you the R4. It should say something like, R4 (possibly has a 'New' logo in top right corner)and says further down R4 SDHC Revolution for DS (NDSL/NDS).
It could aslo say, R4 ('new' in the middle of the box, underneath R4-111 (in orange) upgrade.

Also let me know which site you got the R4 from.
