The 4gb SD Card may not work with the R4's you have as they will be set for 1 or 2gb cards.

You will need a different software version to place on your SD card that the R4 will recognise.

Pete,

The best Cards to use are any upto 2gb, higher than that and your searching the earth for the right software.

Hi Pugg,

Please please please can you help me? I have been struggling to try to sort out the Loading error problem for about 8 hours today and am going crazy.

I will give you the info I have seen others give you but please let me know if you need anything else.

I have the R4SDHC with a 2gb card. It is for a DS Lite. My daughter has removed the serial code from the back of the DS but the Model No is USG-001 (that prob won't be of any use - wish she hadn't removed the serial code).

The worst thing is the card was working this morning - I accidently deleted the files earlier this morning. I have tried downloading quite a few of the kernel - all different versions.

Anyway I hope you can help me before I go crazy.

The R4 card was given as a present. I believe my sister bought it in Hong Kong.

If you bought the R4 card in Hong Kong its most likely the language files should be chinese and not any others.

If you can't read chinese then you're gonna have to follow these steps:
- Go to the R4 website
- Near the top click the language 'R4DS Chinese'
- The layout would be the same so under the R4DS update it should say '更新R4 v1.18版内核'
-Once you've clicked that, go near the bottom and you will see 'R4DS v1.18' and chinese words following
- Click that and save the file.
- Unzip the downloaded file and extract everything to the computer
-Make a back up of all your games and files on the SD card just in case
- Lastly, copy all of the files you've extracted to the SD card and replace all files

Try putting the R4 back in the DS and hopefully it should work.

 

It works!!! On my R4 SDHC
I've tried 4 or 5 firmware up to now, include www.r4-v.com |www.r4sdhc.com | www.r4ultra.com | www.r4ds-ds.com |...
I also try to clean the contact on the R4... (I don't know if this worked)
BUT only after I USED PANASONIC SD FORMAT SOFTWARE, and then used Windows Explorer to copy firmware files to microSD 2GB Lexar, IT WORKED!

Anyone who didn't believe in the Panasonic's SD format software, should think again.

Just wanted to publicly thank you for all of your extra effort and help in getting my ds going again. I have sent it back to my dad which is where the pressy came from and I'm getting my sister to fix it. But I also wanted to state as this is what I have done wrong.
MAKE SURE YOU FINISH WHAT GAME YOU ARE PLAYING IN THE R4 AS SOME OF THEM ARE SO SENSITIVE THAT SHUTTING YOUR CONSOLE DOWN HALF WAY THROUGH SOMETHING COMPLETELY STUFFS UP THE THREADS!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so I bought this DS SDHC Revolution Upgrade card. And I've tried everything. All formating and firmwares between 1.18 to 1.25 and all I get when I turn this DS on is

Menu ? screen right after the DS startup screen.

Its all white with Menu? in red and in a red box.

What is going on....

 

you must make sure where to download the kernel.(official website is the bset one)
Is your R4i is r4i ultra?or the red r4i sdhc?

 

hey, if you r4i is the red r4i sdhc then you need to
-download the kernel here http://www.r4i-sdhc.com/indexe.asp.
-decompress all the files
-copy all the files to your microSD TF card
-it's ok now and you can strat to play games

feel like i've been a fool buying an ;

R4i upgrade revolution and am using a 2gb sdhc card
with my dsi

i have tried downloading various firmwares including the 'official one' from the website printed on the back of my card -
www.r4i-sdhc.com

but i get stuck on the screen where it says "loading" on the top screen (I'm not stuck on the 'menu' that others are stuck on)

please help me
i sold my DS to get a DSi and this card...but I'm a bit depressed about it now...got a 9yr old, an 8yr old and me (a 38yr old !) all wanting to use the roms we have !!!!

hi i had the same problem. i fixed it by going to www.r4-v.com, changing the language to english and downloading it the only program they had. it seems these types of r4 sdhc aren't the real ones. i suspected mine was a fake for a long time. i then unzipped the file and put directly on the sd card (NOTE: don't put the files into a file in the sd card!!!!!!!!!) hope this helped
