Hi i bought new dsi's for kids for xmas and couldnt get it sorted i have the gold r4i, and nthe dsi's are 1.4 asked pugg for help and he got it sorted,

If any of you are having issues with the R4i Ultra I have came across a forum with the following info. I have not managed to try it yet, as can get my hand on a dsl.

To enable your R4i Ultra to work on a DSi console with v1.4 firmware, you first need an old DS or DS Lite, or a DSi console that is running v1.3 firmware or lower, download the 1.4 fix here, Copy the .nds file onto your MicroSD card and boot into the R4i Ultra, from the menu load the 1.4 update .nds file you copied to the MicroSD card, it will update your R4i Ultra, once complete the card will now work in a DSi with 1.4 firmware. Note this does not work with R4i SDHC and the others, this is only for the original R4i Ultra cards.

If any of you have had it work please let me know.

 

just to let you know i have managed to get the r4i ultra to work by following the instructions on my earlier post. Pugg, thanks for input earlier.

Please help puggwash i cannot get this to work !!! I have tried to download the correct firmware etc but it still wont work It was a christmas present for my niece

They are the new versions and need new software follow these instructions



Follow these instructions

1. Downloaded the english software from http://www.ds-gaming.co.uk/downloads.asp

2. Download the R4SDHC version 1.27

3. Then i saved it to computer.

4. Then extract the files by clicking on extract all.

5. Then copy all the files across to the sd card (which should be in the usb adapter).

6. Done.




i had to get in contact with card company as a few of the bulk i bought didnt work this is new software which does work on thhe cards the other one didnt hope it helps xxxx

 

does this support the Ver 1.4E Do'ya no ??
I've heard alot saying alot of the firmwear dosn't support the new upgraded softwear

 

i am not sure hun but doesnt cost anything to try theres also the dsi ones on there too

I bough R4i gold and trying to make this work for the last 4 days and I have tried all the options available but nothing seems to be working. I will appreciate if someone can help me. Here are the details

1) Console - DSi - Ver 1.4U- Bought during Black Friday - This has 5 pre-insatlled game as described in http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-DSi-Bundle-White-DS/dp/B002S5PKXW

2) R4 Type - I bought from http://www.r4ds-r4i.com/products/R4i-Revolution-for-DSi-Gold.html -- I have R4i Gold - The logo on the Cartridge has website mentioned http://www.r4ids.com/

3) Kernel - I donwloaded the latest kernel from http://www.r4ids.com/ (R4i v1.30 ENGLISH) from http://r4i653327.user.d-jet.com/download/soft/ENGLISH.rar

3) SD card - I used Sandisk 512MB as well as Kingston 4GB - The same result.

4) The probelm - I can see all the directory structure and even the game name that I want to play but when I go to play those games I get this error immediately <Application halted !!

i think that means get moonshell 2 but im no expert seek advice from puggwash and try keeping more breif but puggwash gets a buzz out of reading and helping people so god knows.

Looks like you have a minor problem with the Menu software you are using. I just recently bought an R4 SDHC card with a 4GIG msd card. The first day or so I had the same problem as you when using moonshell to boot NDS games.. Later on I found this release made by R4 team for new users...its basically an archive file with everything pre-setup for you.. moonshell2 is actually an addon in this release.

Filename: R4_eng.zip (Sorry no link, forgot where i got it, but gimme your email and i will upload)

Contents of software are:

3 Main buttons-

1) Far Left button = R4 FileManager (For booting Roms, commercial and homebrew games, etc..)

2) Middle button = Loading Moonshell2(This area is where u have problems, it only plays music and views text/pics...)

3) Far Right button = For booting Old Slot 2 Games...you know the GBA cartridge slot under the screen...

Thats pretty much it for that menu except for the nicks and nats hanging around the program like... By pressing Select on the main screen, it will change the Theme to the Next theme available in the list. A little trial and Error should do you fine.
