NEC 3500AG thinks dvd blanks are not empty

    HI ,
    Just got NEC 3500AG drive, it's not working with burning DVD's
    I've tried a few and Instantcopy bomb's out
    DVD SHrink thinks the disks are not empty and so does nero?

    I'll admit it I'm lost, what's going on?

    What discs are they?

    Name/brand/format............

    DataWrite red (V3)
    Datawrite - printable surface
    Ridisc - printable surface

    I've used the DVD's before in the Old SOny Drive, but they're not working on the Nec

    Error in DVD Shrink (latest version)
    Disc is not writeable

    The discs may not be supported with your drive.
    You may have to try another brand..........if that is possible.

    Also you may have to re-flash the firmware to a recent firmware level (this is normally for supported media compatibilty issues).

    However, reflashing could render your burner useless, so it is a risk.
    You will have to goto the manufacturers website to download a recent firmware change and SAFE instructions on how to flash............
