    Hi,

I have a DVD recorder, which at the best quality fills up a 4.7gb disc in 1hour of recording. I want to keep a good quality image, but that is too much space for 1 hour!

I want to therefore convert the DVD to a DivX/Xvid (which is better?), file which is no more than 700mb without loosing to much quality. I know this must be possible as there are many DivX DVD rips which are 700mb and have a very good picture when compared to the original. That would then mean i could store around 5+ hours on each 4.7gb disc which is perfectly acceptable for me.

I know the PQ will decrease, but i've seen soo many high quality 700mb rips, that it must be possible!

    Thanks :)
