Have you tried just going to windows update and finding the driver their. That should fix the problem by windows update.

look on the motherboard for the nane or numbers that identify it
and paste it here so someone can tell you where to go to get the driver
google wdm sound drivers and look for your driver

    gosh typo time

this is just one site for a motherboard
    http://www.ecsusa.com/downloads/drivers_sound.html

driverguide.com is helpfull tooo but you need to know your motherboard id

What motherboard do you have. You may need to run that motherboards live update and install the drivers that way.

Look for me this is still up in the air download a program called Everest Home Edition and then find out the name of your motherboard and then go and find the live update program that can update the drivers.

If you have the disc for your motherboard already install it and then do a live update.

    buy a sound card

there ought to be a number on the motherboard it'sself that will tell you who actually made it. Onboard sound ought to be supported on the cd that came with the board

check in bios that you have enabled it
