can someone make a guide for newbies about how to rip and burn dvds in os 9? believe it or not, some people still use os 9 and not everyone is able to upgrade to os x. i tried using dvd extractor and was able to successfully rip and burn a dvd that was under 2 gb. now when i try to rip one over 2 gb it gives me a drive/media/driver error about half way through. i have a copy of yade but i don't know how to use it. is there anyone who can show us os 9 users what to do?
howdy... just for fun i went to all sorts of websites and used their search engines and mostly found your question posted on all of them (macaddict, ripdifferent...) when i did a search under os9. the only thing i came up with, and you may me able to tell what in the world they're talking about, is this.... http://www.ripdifferent.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=441&highlight=os9 it seems like there is something funky going on with dvd extractor on your machine because it seems like this guy is able to get it to work with larger files. i also saw that no one really knows of anything to compress a movie to fit and the only thing i saw in the above link was the guy talking about doing a split. wish i knew more.
thanks for the reply. if i could just get dvdextractor to rip dvds over 2gigs without giving me that error i'd be able to do it. i also tried disc copy and it wouldn't work with anything over 2 gigs either. i wish someone could tell me the way around this. i wouldn't even need a compressor per se because i can preview the files in yade and erase the one's i don't want. if i were to use yade, how would i copy an entire dvd and then burn it? it'll allow me to save as one giant .vob file. can i burn that file on a dvd and play it in a dvd player?
