I am using Tmpgenc Xpress 3 to encode a xvid avi (25 fps) about 178 megs (15 mins long) to DVD output (NTSC 4:3,Mpeg-2, 720x480, VBR, with sharp filter on). The encoding time saids about 4hrs. Is this about right? I have a Pentium III 1 gig processor.

If someone can tell that this time is consistent with what I am doing, it would really help.

    Thanks in advance.

4hrs is a tad more than I'd expect (i was thinking 2, 3 tops) but it depends on a lot of things. If you werer expecting something like a 20 minute job then not a chance, DVD encoding is quite processor intensive and also depends on the amount/speed of memory and diskspace :)

Also the VBR and sharp enhancement would add some time to that so I guess 4hrs isnt horribly unreasonable :)
