Hey i got a another question,
Is there a way on DVD shrink you can edit the movie...i no you can un-tick extras and things like that but is there a way you can clip-off the previews or make it where when you stick the disc in it starts and doesnt go to main menu. I found it on DVD shrink after you open disc but i tried to hit the delete button and wouldnt let me delete and there isnt a box to un-tick...so what do i do? Thanks,

    BruinsFan,

You can use Shrink in re-author mode and just do the movie. But doing this you lose the menu function.

    Hi xrm454m,

I suggest TMPGEnc to go from AVI to compliant MPEG then TMPGEnc DVD Author to add your menus and take you from DVD Compliant to VOB files then burn to disc. Give it a shot and see if you like it. Guides are to be found at the top of the page -

(It'snice to see someone doing it the correct way rather than using "1-step proggys")

    Cheers,

    Pete

    BruinsFan,

Using Nero's recode 2 will do it too and allowyou to keep your menus intact. It works almost the same way as DVD Shrink (the same guy wrote them both) so it's easy to work. Give it a whirl, you'll be pleased :)

    Cheers,

    Pete

... xrm454 ... as far as I can tell, RW discs seem to be able to store video/data as well as their R counterparts ... As far as just how many times you can record on them ... The manufacturers say 1000 times, but as far as I know, nobody has really tried to do this and actually kept track ... I do know of someone who has been recording a Tv program while he was at work and watching it in the evening ... He did this daily for almost a year before an episode came on that he felt compelled to save ... At that point he changed discs ...
