I am using 007copy to backup some of my movies. After the burn it says the dic is complete but it will now play on any of my dvd players. They will play on my pc and my laptop. I now have Nero 8 downloaded but can not figure out how to "close" the dvd...any help?

Have not heard of 007 copy. The top 2 rippers worth mentioning are either anydvd or dvdfab. Try using one of those.

    1.) Rip with dvdfab/anydvd

    2.) Process with fixvts/vobblanker

3.) Compress with dvd shrink/ dvd rebuilder

    4.) Burn with imgburn.

Just a little add to brother rtm's fine advice

    From 1bonehead

You have found a newer movie that shrink cannot handle.Soooooo

    1) decrypt to HDD with dvdfab HD (free version) Or use paid for version
    2) process files (all) with fixvts
    3) shrink files with dvd shrink, output as iso/image to HDD
    4) burn iso/image file with IMgburn

    all programs are free

    Imgburn, free from
    http://www.imgburn.com

    fixvts, free from
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_...ools/fixvts.cfm

    dvdfabHD free from
    http://www.dvdfab.com

    dvd shrink 3.2.0.15

    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm

and a guide to use all the programs

Thanks for the input..does anydvd work better than "clone dvd". I found clone dvd for about $60 for 2 years. Which is best to use?

AnyDVD remove's copyright protection and can rip to the HDD (not sure but thought it used to use FixVTS, may still, don't know), Clone DVD then allows you to copy or delete various part's of a video, much like DVD Shrink (free). Clone DVD will not rip copyrighted video. AnyDVD and Clone DVD are the payware equivalent of the free method above.
