hi, i have a casio cw-75 disc printer and it will only print on the smooth glossy dvds, i dont know what dvds to buy, i did use ridisc xtreme but it looks like printing suface has changed and they are not glossy and i cant print on them. i need glossy dvd-r printable discs that are good to backup dvds can anyone help me?
Here is a Canadian site:http://www.blankmedia.ca/ Sounds like something like a Taiyo Yuden Silver Printable is what you want. Gives kind of a 3D effect.
From what I see, that Casio CW-75 is a thermal transfer printer. It uses colored ribbons. The Taiyo Yuden media will work just fine.
thanks for your help waynekusa & mistycat i will buy some Taiyo Yuden Silver Lacquer media THANK YOU!!
Are not silver lacguer and silver printable separate types of disks and silver lacquer isn't printable? My bad. I just saw thermally printable.
@mistycat You are correct. There is a difference between "printable" and "silver Lacquer" media. Here is Casio's page listing compatible media: http://www.casio.com/products/Label...k_Title_Printers/CW-75/content/Compatibility/ However, this is a thermal transfer printer, so I don't think there will be any problem using the TY media.
is there and other good make of themal dvd-r discs, i cant find any Taiyo Yuden thermal dvds in the u.k, i found 1 but is £50!!
@mistycat No problem. I didn't notice that the description said that until you pointed it out. @rob868 I don't live in the UK, so I can't tell you the best place to go, but I did find this: http://www.dvd-and-media.com/dvd media.htm Verbatim 16x DVD-R Spindle Media - thermal printable spindle from 26p per disc Multispeed, Manufactured by Verbatim, DVD-R discs - packed in protective spindle tubs, minimum order 50 pcs.
