Alternately you can split your movie into 2 single layer discs and keep all extra features using ifo edit. In this case you are not forced to compress the original movie. I have made a guide for this case. If you' re interested I can send you this guide by e-mail in pdf format.

I don't think I explained well in original post(sorry I was a little drunk last night, and a little hungover this morning. I really let the badger out last night)...

I use DVDDecryptor to rip to HD. I'm then using Rebuilder Pro RC5.1 and CCE Basic. I was going to use DVD Shrink to pull out the unwanted languages, previews, etc. It was here that I was going through and just getting a feel for that program and noticed that the movie and VTS2 (some cartoon) didn't have any audio, but the previews and menus did.

I'd like to make as high-quality backup as possible and just want the menu and movie, or could do w/o the menu if it will allow the movie to be a higher quality.

I've used Decryptor and Xcopy, but I've been unhappy with the quality so I'm putting the effort into learning how to get some quality stuff.

I appreciate all the help and find these forums and this site is awesome.

dwcoffin theres a couple programs that you can use for BETTER quality than dvd x copy or dvd decrypter

CloneDVD 2 with anydvd (which i use)i did the full disc with this program and it looks great. download the programs for a free trial and see how you like it ,you wont be disappointed ,heres the link

another program you can use for GREAT quality is Intervideo DVDCopy3

    http://www.intervideo.com/jsp/InterVideoDVDCopy_Profile.jsp

both programs will do a great job i just prefer CloneDVD2 because of the re-authoring capabilities and being able to control the burn speed (buring at 4X max.)

and remember to use GOOD blank media as in Taiyo Yuden,Verbatium or Ritek

    good day and happy buring

I agree with quality. That is our primary goal ultimately, and one program that I use and many thers as well is Rebuilder with CCE. Others have mentioned about time, that is why the BAtch option in Rebuilder is awe-some. I'll set up several jobs 3-4 in Batch processing and then let it run throughout the night. Next morning the jobs are complete and then just burn the appropriate files. If you want quality and quick then I feel Intervideo and CloneDvd2 are hard to beat. As aabbccdd mentioned they can be downloaded and used for 21-30 days. Good amount time to try them and see how they fit within your system.

Great media + slow burns = Flawless back-ups!

Well, I ran through it again, and I was able to get the audio for the main movie. The anime cartoon extra that's on the DVD still doesn't have any audio. Does anyone know if it's in japanese? I'm not copying that language by default.

    Thanks for the help...
