I am really only familiar with Coolsat 6000 at the moment, but lately the support for bins on the Viewsats have been released faster. You might want to consider that when looking. I don't know anything about any others.

Bill038 or Jerry may have their thoughts on whats better.

There is a conversion process that seems to be working well to convert 2500 receivers to a 2700. It will then take the 2700 updates. There are some minor problems that I have read about but from most reports the old 2500 actually works better after the conversion. I haven't done this so this is all from reading information from other sites.

As to a new receiver, I'm hooked on the Viewsats at this point. If I go into a HD receiver it will be another Viewsat.

You take each line and divide it in 2

    oo:2bd6f6c6e5b2fac879f23aff104d05ed
    is
    10:2bd6f6c6e5b2fac8

breck so are you saying we have to key each line into two..

when you see the keys at some of the sites, they are in 2 lines.
Like you can see here: http://www.dss-keys.com/

On coolsat 6000, you have to enter the keys on for lines 10, 11, 20, 21.
Not sure how other models or type enter them.

    00: 2B D6 F6 C6 E5 B2 FA C8 79 F2 3A FF 10 4D 05 ED

    01: 0C 7A AE 74 38 74 E1 27 18 51 F8 1A 5F 19 96 8F

So for CS6000, they would look like:

    2B D6 F6 C6 E5 B2 FA C8
    79 F2 3A FF 10 4D 05 ED

    0C 7A AE 74 38 74 E1 27
    18 51 F8 1A 5F 19 96 8F

From what I have read on this conversion, it should work on most clone receivers also. The first conversion process required the receiver to be jtagged to fix it. Now I am seeing the conversion as an update which is done the same way a bin file is updated. So you would still need to hook the receiver to the PC but in the normal way not through a jtag cable. Then the 2nd step is to update the new bin file. I don't know what problems this may cause or how well it actually works.

I have been reading on other servers that they are telling people to turn the power button off on the back of the receiver and wait 1 minute. Then turn it back on. They said you might have to wait as much as 4 hours and then the channels will appear. Don't know myself, but who knows.

Just for general information to everyone, it seems the Coolsats are still having problems rolling keys. As stated before it takes a very long time to get some of the channels to roll in. My Viewsat hasn't missed a beat since the last bin file update so it must be a qlitch in the Coolsat bin files of the receiver itself. I have no idea why the Coolsats are having constant problems with these bin files. Try to cycle the back power switch off for several minutes and then just leave it on and see if the picture comes in. There doesn't seem to be any answer from the Coolsat coders for the problems.

    Hi Jerry,
I have updated the new bin on my pansat 3500SD and all channels were working fine until this afternoon, suddenly the wait for picture % thing appeared and all channels now show the same message. What is the fix for this?
Also do you have the new keys for DN for manual input?

My guess at this point is that the keys changed and your auto roll is trying to find the new ones. Let the % search run for at least 5 to 10 minutes and see if you get picture back. I won't know more until I get home later from work. There are 2 links under my eagle, one for the Keymaster download. The other on for TVKEYZ takes you right to a page showing the keys.
