In one of the other threads, people have mentioned the DISH has hit the boxes again for Thanksgiving holiday. Gobble Gobble!!!!

You will find you can expect them to screw you over on holidays and other special events.

What is happenning why are we down? what is 106 prov..
Here is a general and small view of what is Happening.

Here is why a receiver maker may not have released a fix yet!! there could be multiple reasons.
if they are going after a patch!

if receiver makers are trying to patch it, then they should have it by now!!

if they are going for emu ?

It takes time, as the key change is now dynamic.

In past dish sent emm's to update the card-

update meaning change the way the encryption works

meaning the way the ECM is handled-

now with the last update, ECM's themselves are used to update the way the encryption works, this makes it very dynamic, not only that but its a bit different than what even patching was like.

So please people give them some time they may work for the EMU and not just a patch !! because those can go down ver fast again!

Q Question to a coder:
so there is no a 106 key that a member could just input in their own boxes, they do need the actual fix, right?


A: there are several things going on:

1 there is a new provider id 0106

2nd there is new key for that provider

3rd there is new type of ECM

all 3 have to be implemented for the unit to work

and on top of that

its DYNAMIC meaning even if they figure out how to handle the new ecm, dish can change it very very easily

Hey, i was browsing through my channels and i found out that few of the channels are working but the rest of them aren't.dISH NETWORK.Any suggestion why?

I was able to download #338 bin from future-fta but that site is really slow at the moment. Try a couple of times before you can get to it. All channels are still not working though.

 

What's that bin for? # doesn't mean alot if we don't know your receiver.
We know some bin version $'s but don't know them all.

So, at this point is it just wait for new software?

Or do we have to do any kind of changes to the receiver?

hey flip here got a question i set up my coolsat 5000 last week so am still a bit stupid on the whole subject, i do have dish and realize that they changed the bin and we are currently waiting for the latest bin wierd thing is i still have most channels just no ppv's do i need a new or different dish and if so what do you suggest?

 

All you can do is wait for the new bin file. DN now has the ability to knock out PPV channels as a group. The only fix at this point is a new bin file.

Actually Coolsat fixes just came out - will download them and put them on the toolbar right away.

 

4000 & 5000 added to the toolbar - 6000 will be delayed again.
