As a COOLSAT 6000 owner,,i can say that if you have an updated bin file and your autoroll is on ,,the keys will change automaticaly,,but i have seen threads on this site where people had COOLSAT COPIES/CLONES ,, and the keys would not update,,and had to be done manualy,,with autoroll off,,but either way,,new bin#156 is not out yet,,,I am realy new at this my self,,but the biggest key to this is to READ READ READ,And ask for help,,this site is amazing and people are very patient and will walk you thruogh what ever you need,, they helped me ,to the point of being able to help guide others along when i can

Bins?, Keys?, ..... Am I way in over my head?...LOL. Where can I find your toolbar Breck68....something about a setup guide? Where can I find info (or glossary to all these terms). I still have some channels but they're slowly disappearing.

    Thanks!

I'll try to keep this as simple as I can. As you have read, there are 2 main items used to decrypt the sat signal. Both keys and bins have to be the right ones to make it work. The bin file is the main software that tells the receiver how to decrypt the signal but the keys have to be correct also. If the providers change the main encryption stream, a new bin file is usually needed and it takes some time for the coders to write the new bin file. If the providers just want to play with fta receivers, they at times just change the keys. keys can be manually entered and are easy to fix. The bin files with a working auto roll finds the new keys and installed them. The providers at times disable the auto roll feature. Thats when you need to shut off auto roll and manually enter new keys.

These last few encryption changes have required new bin files and it looks like simple key changes may be a thing of the past. Every new encryption change is getting a little more complicated. The more complicated the change---the longer the bin file takes to write. We just hope the coders can keep up with it. Just keep reading what we try to tell you. If we say turn off auto roll and enter keys, then do just that. If we say that a new bin file is needed, then don't ask for the new keys because that will not help. I tried code writing years ago and just got a big headache from the effort. I'm getting too old for that stuff. Hang in there and hope for the best.

Hey Guys I have a coolsat 7000 and for some reason it usually goes out. Meaning that i would watch tv at nite and as i shut it off in the morning when i turn it back on all the channels will be SCRAMBLED CHANNEL or somtime this works . What I do is that i turn on to a free preview channel and then I switch to the channel I want to watch and couple sconds later it would come on. Then somtimes I do this for at least 20 minutes and I get nothing.

We are waiting for a new bin file at this time. All the premium movie channels/PPV are out right now.

There is no fix for Viewsat yet. When it comes out I usually find it on the first page of this link.

    http://www.totalfta.com

The Magnum file is only for that receiver. It will not work on other brands. Bin files are brand/model specific and can not be interchanged in most cases.
