Have Viewsat Xtreme. Frequent freezing started around 5 pm est. on 08/01/10. Last fix I installed is ...080108x-1. Is there any solution to this problem or do I just have to wait for a new fix ?

    Thnx

Try the bin released around DEC 27/07 and see if it fixes it. There was an ecm change and they used an old ecm.

Bin stands for Binary file ( what you load in the receiver to make it work.

ECM stands for Electronic counter measure( the encryption in the sat signal.

Brecks right, no need to unhook anything to update. I always use to unhook the Viewsat and bring it to my desktop for files. then about a year ago I started downloading the files to my laptop and taking the laptop to the receiver. I leave the serial cable hooked to the Viewsat all the time and I have audio cables going to an FM transmitter so I get the sat radio channels on any radio in the house if I'm not watching TV.
