need help
my VS altra, there is no chanel it looks freez i cant use the remote, when it is on , i see blak screen on tv , the pannel show number 4

plz help

 

Have you tried to power it down completely,, and letting it sat for a while ,,
I had to do that with my COOLSAT,,It may help or may not,,if not im sure BRECK and or JERRY or some one can help ,,but they may be at work until this eve,,

Hi. Don't know if this will help everyone, but if your viewsat ultra is frozen this is what needs to be done. First, you have to be very quick. O.K first switch off the viewsat at the back and then switch on. As soon as it comes on punch in 100 then OK on your remote. This should cause you to have access to channel 100, 101 and the radio channels. However if you try to go to a "regular" station like PPV etc. it WILL freeze up again and you will have to repeat the process.You can also try the same process, but instead press the menu button. This is only a solution to the frozen screen to allow for loading of the new files when they come out. Hope this helps

 

i did that, it works, but what if reload the latest file should work right...... i did that and reload it but it did not work, so you mean i have to wait until this file go down and download the new one when comes out.

I have the viewsat ultra also. I am having the same problems with it freezing up. Could only find a couple of channels that are still working, they in the 19000's for those that are interested.

 

It is reported that all the Viewsats except the Pro have a problem with the last bin. It is suggested by the coders to turn the rear power off and wait for a new bin because your receiver may end up damaged if left on and having this problem.


Coders are presently working on a fix to resolve this issue.

 

hey breck...it's true about the viewsat..i have vs2000 the xtreme....i just load the new factory bin and then load last bin file from date 26. and now when i trun my reciever on it shows a number 7 or 8 on display and it freeze the whole reciever.
after that nothing works,,,no remote or any button on reciever. it have to turn it off from the back. i did turned it off from the back and waiting for the new bin file. but i hope i didn't damaged my reciever. let me know if any thing you know about it.

 

New bins have been coming out to fix this issue.
They just suggested turning the power off to protect your units from possible damage. Not saying it would, but a just in case measure.

 

I never had any problems with the last bin file but I see all the Viewsat files are out dated 3/1/. I guess I should load the new one just to be safe.

Depends what your using - apparently the Pro was the only one not affected.
