need software help, upload a video from my dvd

    hey guys how are you doing? i need some help finding a software tool where i can take (record) a clip from my dvd (i was i a movie) cause i wanted to make a trailer that i can upload. I hope you guys can lead me in the right direction thanks again

    If I want short clip from a DVD I use DVD Shrink in reauthor mode. I select the start/stop points then Backup. At that point I abort the burn but now I've got a .vob file of my clip.

    I can then encode that to any format I want.

    A VOB is basically an mpeg2 file so you've got lots of choices for software to use. You could open it with Virtualdubmod then encode it to Xvid to compress it.
