I checked and made sure you're using the latest firmware for your burner and you are, so then I checked with Sony to see if they provide a [bold]"recommended Discs and compatibility"[/bold] section/list on their site and they do. Here is the link for that list: http://sony.storagesupport.com/dvdrw/810mediainfo_gb_na051011.htm If you look closely, you'll see that they recommend "Verbatim/Mitsubishi Chemical Co., Ltd." for dual layer media, so that's what I would try and use.
