hootie69 The reports shouldn't conflict. I can only show you the sites and the directions. Without being there, I don't know what's going wrong. Had you used killAspi and cleaned the system as instructed the layer should have installed properly. I've used ForecASPI in the past myself and know it works. Which tool is giving which report? I remember all ASPI files may not be installed to XP. Does the tool say the ASPI layer is functional or not? DADEO1 It doesn't hurt to just use the tool to check.
yes 1 report for from InfoTool in Nero InfoTool says system aspi is installed and operating properly but i still get the communication error with cd/dvd drive during cd burning process.
As I said earlier, ASPI isn't a cure all for everything. Since your ASPI now appears to be installed and working, try troubleshooting the system to see if you can locate the problem that way. Since you're using Nero, post a help thread in the Nero section and get help with why the software isn't working. Nero has logs that help diagnose the problem and there's a number of qualified members to help. You can check with Creaky if you're having a problem finding where to post or what to post. He's a good mod and good with Nero.

You're welcome. Hope you get your problem solved soon. One good thing about it, you don't have to worry about needing ASPI in the future and it doesn't hurt anything that I'm aware of.
