Hi guys just got a new nokia phone and want to connect it to my pc. Windows XP (Hoem edition) is asking me to download the service pack 1 before driver will be recognised. i don't have braod band at home and wondered if i can download service pack 1 to another pc and burn the file to cd or pen drive ? any ideas would be most appreciated.
You can order the SP1 CD from Microsoft for Free (actually it'll be SP2 now). Or you can download the file on one computer and burn to CD the run it on your computer.
Hi meta1 I've tried to download the software and load it, but it didn't work properly. I'll order the CD and hope that works too Cheers hm1
You may also find that some Computer magazines have it in too. I know this months issue of Computer Shopper (UK) has it in. You may have to wait awhile for MS to send the CD but it'll turn up eventually. Keep us informed. Always happy to help, especially where phones are concerned, they are my specialist subject here, glad they added this section. *if only a mod position was open here, lol!*
Hi meta1 u say ur a phone expert let's see lol i have nokia 7610 and i installed pc suite 6.1 i have the DKU-2 Cable driver when ever i wamt to install the driver from the cd it says "Setup requires Service Pack 1 installed on the target machine" hmmm SP1 doesint come with the windows cd i bought or should i get it??? I tried to install SP2 b4 but it did screw my compuuter and i had to reformat it SP2 sucks i dont want it lol is there any other way? thnx a lot man
