Yeah, I've noticed how many complete idiots are running around out there too,(lol) but man is an animal that will self sacrifice the one for the many. That's the kind of stuff that heros are made of. This is more of a philosophical debate of a different calibre, but I personally have respect for the man who will stand by their values and accept the consequences, both good and bad, for their beliefs and values. Everything I believe in I believe in for a reason and I know what that reason is. I have little respect for those whose answer to everything is "Well....just because" or who go on about how things should be and not face how things are. Life's not fair and that's a fact. By the way, that fact works in your favor quite often.
Man acts like any other predator species useing its claws and teeth(bullets and bombs) to fight tis way to the "top" using power(organized power any idoit with a army) "religion"(organized religion IE crusades) faith(lets help others and never get any respect from the world) When man roams into a new area is not pretty,neither are predators find a new clean area to hunt,the sad thing is humans no better but in the end are still animals after all. My point is there can be PLENTY of things wrong with man ,guns are kinda low on the list,if guns were made illegal the underground would still have plenty to spare putting the civilian populace in more danger than having said populace understand and respect guns and let them try and use them right before losing that indavenal right,the same can be said for media be it books,video or music some claim these kill on a larger degree than civilian guns so lets start burning books again and be ignorant of all that roams in light or shadow................. somewhere in it all there is a balance and thats what I try and look for.

The dreamers, builders, artists, inventors...these are the people who are building things, creating beauty, etc...though entropy is the first law of physics, many useful and beautiful things are created from ruin. Poison kills also, and is much more insidious and difficult to detect. Are you going to outlaw all poison now too? Do you think you could? Many things in life can be used for good or ill. Blivet, This is my first go with the .22-250. I inherited a Savage 110 with the laminated target stock and a 26" heavy stanless barrel. At the time I got it my handloading equipment was till in storage but even with factory loads the rifle is incredibly accurate so I can't wait to see what it'll do with good handloads! I've been buying updated manuals (all mine were five or six years old) and decided my top choice for powder was Varget with IMR4320 running a close second and Benchmark in third place. I went to the sporting goods store last night and the only one of the three they had in stock was Benchmark so that's what I went with. It looks to be good choice and since I've never worked with it I'm excited to try it out. For bullets I picked up some Hornady 40 grain V-Max bullets to try. Many of the manuals are listing 4,100 fps with that weight bullet and the right powder. Hodgdon's site lists a max of 36.5 grains and a top velocity of 4,114 which is pretty damn fast but I think you're really on to something with 3031 though. Hodgdon lists 3031 getting a 40 grainer up to 4,224 which is insane! I'll be picking up some 3031 next time I'm at the sporting goods store. If the rifle likes the light bullets then good but if not I'll move up to something in 50 grain then up to 55 if that doesn't pan out. I'm hopeful for the 40 grainers though. I'm betting it'll be a spectacular sight when they connect with a prairie dog going that fast I have the most experience loading for the .243 Winchester which is an amazing round. Stupidity is alive and well in Congress. What really, really, REALLY pisses me off is that we have a war going on, veterans enduring months of bureaucratic bullshit to get the therapy, rehabilitation and prosthetics they deserve right away, very real terrorist threats, huge border issues, a myriad of chronically underfunded social programs, hungry kids, citizens of all ages unable to afford basic health care, senior citizens getting jacked by a crippled medicare system that doesn't cover even half of what they need and these goddam idiots are wasting Congress's time on stupid ass shit like this. Then again these are the same people that consider making sure gays can't marry takes precedence over all the aforementioned issues. Apparently gays and lawfully armed citizens are a bigger threat to national security than Al Qaida is. Every one of those asswipes needs to be fired and replaced with REAL everyday thinking people. The Clinton Gun Ban failed miserably by making NO difference in crime and instead of realizing it was completely misdirected these frickin boneheads think adding a couple more guns and asthetic features to the list is going to magically make it work. The bacteria in my dog's crap has more collective intelligence that any one of these idiots.
