I dont know why but nero has all of a sudden started not working.
I put in a blank disc and select the avi file i want to burn to it using " make your own dvd-video" option.
I then select chapters etc. and then on the final screen click burn. The file is a video which lasts about 50 minutes and about 50 mins after i click burn it ejects the disc and says that project is complete.
I then try playing it on either my dvd or my pc and both say the disc is blank.
But when i try to burn a second time it tells me that this disc isnt empty and do i want to erase disc before continuing. I select yes the burning process continues the disc is ejected and the same problem remains everything says its a blank disc.
I have repeated this again and again with different and brand new discs and it still wont work. Can someone tell me whats wrong?
It worked fine last week on another avi file and i havent even opened nero on my pc since then so i dont know how or why its suddenly started doing this?
    Thanks for any help forthcoming.
If someone can help then please dont get too technical as i know very little about nero and burning because up until now its always been very simple:(

Here is my log, i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling then burning and the same problem persists. I used a brand new disc but it still says burning complete then says its a blank disc when i go to play it, but then says its not a blank disc when i use it again to burn. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

While you are waiting, have Nero "Write to Hard Disk folder".

Download and run Imgburn on the same disk.
It will erase it if required.

    http://www.imgburn.com/

    Run ImgBurn
    Mode > 'Build'
    Output > 'Device'
File > 'Browse for Folder', highlight on the 'VIDEO_TS' folder, > 'OK'
    Click the green write button.

This will either duplicate the problem and point to the media or burner or succeed and point the finger at Nero.

    The plot thickens!!
I contacted the manufacturer of my laptop as i downloaded roxio and it did the same thing.
They told me to shut down my pc and restart in safe mode. Then, in safe mode, try burning so i did using nero again. The video file is 50 mins long but the burning in safe mode took nearly two hours- but it worked!!
    What does that mean??

If Roxio was installed at the same time as Nero then do a search at Afterdawn for Nero Roxio conflict.
The forums are full of posts.
Most end up using 'Roxizap' to get rid of it.
