I used Nero previously through a trial version, it worked great and I decided to buy it and now it won't burn correctly. I have no problems until the burning process. The first time I tried, I was burning onto a Compusa 4x DVD+R (which is what I always used and used during the trial version) and it said "unspecified target error." I tried again burning at a lower speed (2.4x) and I used Memorex 4x DVD+R. It seemed to be working (it actually started burning) and then it stopped partway through. I did it again and it stopped when it was nearly finished. At the bottom there is the log for the 2nd error. Any suggestions? Are you able to do basic writes? Meaning can you create a Data CD or Audio CD without problems? What are you using as a source for the DVD Copy? How was it generated? You indicate you had succes before. If you use the same source data where you were succesful, are you able to use this with Nero Recode succesfully? You can write just to the Hard Drive for this test, as the error message is not burn related. Regards, Craig Ahead Software USA
I actually just got nero to work. By using Memorex at 4x and only clicking high quality, I have had no more problems. Thank you

Thank you! I did uninstall InCD4 and then I was able to burn 1 successfully, but am now getting the internal error again. This occurs during the 1st part of the process (before burning starts) and usually occurs once the DVD is 99% done...also, when this does happen, the encoding is VERY slow first before it messes up. Hi Jessie98, Do you have another system to test with? It would be nice to know if this only occurs on one system, or any system you test it on. The error does not give us a light to work with, but the fact that it occurs before the burning begins at least illiminates any issues with the recorder, or any command given to the recorder. So that would leave the source file, Nero, and your system and any programs installed or running in the background. Did you make sure no other programs were running in the background? Did you try increasing the Virtual Memory? Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the software, using the Nero Clean tool to ensure a good installation? Thank you for the response! I have made sure that all other programs are closed. I had roxio and InCd4 on my computer but have uninstalled both. I also reinstalled nero and did all of the updates and then had 1 successful burn. How do I increase the virtual memory? Unfortunately, I don't have another system to test on, but I have used Nero for the past month without a problem (since I first figured out that I was using a DVD brand that nero didn't like). The only change that was made to my system was that I was using a program called Talk Now (which was on the system previously) but it required a ligos installation for the video to run, and after this program was installed, I received the error for the first time. I then uninstalled the ligos program and now the burn process has been working off an on.
Hi Jessie98, To adjust your Virtual Memory use the below steps. Open System in Control Panel. On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings. On the Advanced tab, under Virtual memory, click Change. Under Drive [Volume Label], click the drive that contains the paging file you want to change. Under Paging file size for selected drive, click Custom size, and type a new paging file size in megabytes in the Initial size (MB) or Maximum size (MB) box, and then click Set. The No seek Complete error message is completely hardware related. I can only suggest making sure you have the latest firmware for the recorder, try a slower write speed, try another brand of media, or cleaning the head of the optical drive. Regards, Craig Ahead Software USA
Internal error again.... I cleaned the lens and I got read of the no seek error. I burned 1 DVD succesfully and now got the "internal error" again during the encoding process. Any suggestions?
