I've got a similar problem. I used Nero Express for the first time to burn 4 - 30 minute .mpg files, tv shows recorded from a TV capture card, to a DVD. I created a menu on the disc, with four chapters. I let it adjust quality to fit on the DVD. It took approx. 3 hours to encode and burn to the disc, which showed as being successful. It plays on my pc using Nero Showtime, but it will not work on any of my 3 DVD players in my house. It just spins for a minute then says "No Disc". What is going on? I'd hate to have to wait 3 hours each time I want to try it again.
I have a similar problem as Dulan. I get that structure error right at the end with 5 seconds left in the burn no matter what type or size of file is on there. It was a DV-AVI 8GB with video settings at HQ which video express compresses to 2.8GB. I have an ASUS 1604 DVD Burner with the latest firmware. I used TDK + and TDK - 8x discs and tried burning at 8x, and then 4x. They work up until the last 5 seconds of the burn processes and then I get the structure error. I really like this program, but it would be useless to me if it doesn't support my DVD burner, or can't complete jobs. I suppose the next step is to burn to disc, and then burn that image to DVD. Perhaps that will work, but like someone else said, that's not really acceptabble. Any help you can give me would be great.
I'm having the same problem on my box with an error log pretty much verbatim from what mochahome has seen. I've run into about three different threads about this problem, but have seen no responses from Nero on any of them regarding the burn failures. Unfortunately uninstalling/cleaning/reinstalling has NOT solved the problem for me, and i'm now up to 6 coasters ... it gets to the VERY end when it tries to write the final disk structure, then barfs. My system: Dell 400sc (P4/2.8) WinXP-SP2 1gb RAM Sony DRU-710A with the BY02 firmware update (DMA on) Anyone else had any success in getting around this problem? Joe
Here's a wrinkle on this same problem...I can burn ok to a DVD-RW, but when I try to burn a plain DVD-R, I get the same "unable to create disk structure" abortion. Made 3 coasters now. The DVD-RW looks and plays just fine. Furthermore, I can't burn a disk image at all. I get a nasty error message right at the beginning of the burn and it aborts. Is this a Nerovision issue? I'm running Windows ME on an AMD Sempron 2200+ with a BTC DVD burner with Nerovision Express 3.0.1.18.
Craig, I am getting the same error (burn failed - unable to create disk structure) when attempting to burn a mvoie compiled with NeroVision Express 3. I've updated the firmware in my LiteOn drive and all the Nero software to latest levels. I've tried several brands of -R disks. Nothing gets me past this error. I'm wasting money producing coasters! I have successfully created some disks with the Nero software but now I'm stuck. Here is the bottom of mylog file with the error messages: 2:15:12 PM #22 Text 0 File BurnAtOnceRecorder.cpp, Line 2625 [14:15:21] DVDEngine Finished writing file VTS_01_0.BUP of size 16384 bytes (8 sectors) [14:15:21] DVDEngine [14:15:21] DVDEngine 2:15:16 PM #23 Text 0 File BurnAtOnceRecorder.cpp, Line 1397 [14:15:21] DVDEngine Writing VTS_01_0.IFO at sector 672 [14:15:21] DVDEngine [14:15:21] DVDEngine 2:15:19 PM #24 SCSI -1064 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 1432 [14:15:21] DVDEngine SCSI Exec, HA 1, TA 0, LUN 0, buffer 0x0D4A0400 [14:15:21] DVDEngine Status: 0x04 (0x01, SCSI_ERR) [14:15:21] DVDEngine HA-Status 0x00 (0x00, OK) [14:15:21] DVDEngine TA-Status 0x02 (0x01, SCSI_TASTATUS_CHKCOND) [14:15:21] DVDEngine Sense Key: 0x05 (KEY_ILLEGAL_REQUEST) [14:15:21] DVDEngine Sense Code: 0x21 [14:15:21] DVDEngine Sense Qual: 0x00 [14:15:21] DVDEngine CDB Data: 0x28 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x20 0x00 0x00 0x00 [14:15:21] DVDEngine Sense Data: 0x70 0x00 0x05 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x0A [14:15:21] DVDEngine 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x21 0x00 [14:15:21] DVDEngine [14:15:21] DVDEngine 2:15:19 PM #25 CDR -1064 File SessionUtils.cpp, Line 49 [14:15:21] DVDEngine Invalid block address [14:15:21] DVDEngine [14:15:21] DVDEngine 2:15:19 PM #26 Text 0 File BurnAtOnceRecorder.cpp, Line 712 [14:15:21] DVDEngine Failed to release fragment at 672 [14:15:21] DVDEngine [14:15:21] DVDEngine 2:15:19 PM #27 Text 0 File BurnAtOnceRecorder.cpp, Line 2588 [14:15:21] DVDEngine Failed to release fragment at 672 [14:15:21] DVDEngine [14:15:21] DVDEngine 2:15:19 PM #28 Phase 179 File APIProgress.cpp, Line 276 [14:15:21] DVDEngine Writing file to disc failed [14:15:21] DVDEngine [14:15:21] DVDEngine Existing drivers: [14:15:21] DVDEngine File 'Drivers\CDRALW2K.SYS': Ver=5.3.5.10, size=23436 bytes, created 11/29/2004 10:10:38 AM [14:15:21] DVDEngine Registry Keys: [14:15:21] DVDEngine HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon\AllocateCDROMs : 0 (Security Option) [14:15:21] DVDEngine _Xcept (): Signalling Exception: 129 NeroBAOCloseFile() returned error condition _BAOContext::CloseFile() [14:15:21] DVDEngine ****END: Create - VTSI#1 [14:15:21] DVDEngine **END: _DVDVideo - Create [14:15:21] DVDEngine ######################################################################################## [14:15:21] DVDEngine ERROR [14:15:21] DVDEngine cause: 129 (neroapi_call_failed) [14:15:21] DVDEngine source: NeroBAOCloseFile() returned error condition [14:15:21] DVDEngine description: _BAOContext::CloseFile() [14:15:21] DVDEngine ######################################################################################## [14:15:21] DVDEngine **BEGIN: IDVDSessionBaseImpl - Clear [14:15:21] DVDEngine **END: IDVDSessionBaseImpl - Clear [14:15:21] DVDEngine END: IDVDVideoSessionImpl - CreateDisc [14:15:26] NeroAPI Burn process failed at 8x (11,080 KB/s) [14:15:28] DVDEngine BEGIN: IDVDSessionBaseImpl - EndDiscAccess [14:15:28] DVDEngine ..Flags=0 [14:15:28] DVDEngine **BEGIN: _MediaAccess::Release () [14:15:28] DVDEngine ****BEGIN: _MediaAccess::~_MediaAccess () [14:15:28] DVDEngine ****END: _MediaAccess::~_MediaAccess () [14:15:28] DVDEngine **END: _MediaAccess::Release () [14:15:29] DVDEngine END: IDVDSessionBaseImpl - EndDiscAccess [14:15:29] DVDEngine BEGIN: IDVDSessionBaseImpl - RegisterCallback [14:15:29] DVDEngine ..Session callback unregistered... It got discovered in another thread that if you just disabled "Burn at once" then the problems all mysteriously disappear. The other thread is "NeroVisionExpress 3 Problem" if you're curious. Joe
Well, last night I finally was able to burn a DVD an not get the structure 129 error. I couldn't believe it. I used someone's suggestion to uncheck the burn-at-once feature. And I still had to down speed my DVD burn from 16x it supports to 4x on 8xTDK media, but it's a start. I haven't tried again, so I don't know it's a fluke. At least I know it's not my hardware now, and that it is a bug in VE3. Good luck out there.
Joe, Thanks so much. Your tip worked and the burn completed without error. I could have sworn I tried toggling that with no effect, but I must have been mistaken. Thanks again. Just a note to the the company that this product(NERO) has been a huge exercise in frustration. Almost everytime I try to do something, it doesn't work for one reason or another. I can appreciate the complexity of this type of software (I have been a programmer in the past) but after all, I did pay good money for it and I expect it to be of better quality. -Gary.
I just want to say thanks to you guys for all your solutions to the nerovision problems. I was having similar problems myself regarding burning with nerovision but after studying all various responses on this forum, i'm happy to say that my nero6 works fine now. keep up the good work guys. cheers
Ahead Software responded to my plea for help and my problems were solved! Here's what they told me: Download the cleaner tool from Nero and use it to uninstall all of your Nero applications. Download all of the latest applications from the Nero website and install them. Convert them from demo mode by using your serial number. This solved ALL of my problems. I think the key is to use their cleaner tool to uninstall, that removes all of the registry entries in addition to the software.
This 'Burn-At-Once' feature was a problem once before and was resolved, but looks like its back again. I'll create a Task Tracking Entry so our QA and Engineers can take a closer look at it. Regards Craig Nero Inc USA
