I have been using Nero for burning dvd's for a few years now and have just ran into problems in the last few days, I have done a clean install, replaced all the cables, checked my firmware, turned off the Imapi settings, upgraded my version of nero and everything else that I have read in multiple fourms and I am now stuck and ready to give up....

I HOPE THAT SOMEONE OUT THERE CAN HELP ME!!!!

here is the log from nero....

Basically I can see only 2 things, you are using poor quality media

try Verbatim or Sony (made in Japan)

and you are burning way too fast

    Slow burn to 4X

You have tried everything such as updating firmware, updating Nero, slowing burn speed but you continue to use memorex discs. This is the reason I asked you to post another log...using DIFFERENT media if you dont want to accept that CMC mag discs are crap then that's your choice but everyone here will advise you the same.

    BTW:
This statement amuses me...do you mean $30/100 discs...as NO discs(singluar) are worth $30.00

I will not express my feelings right now... I never said I was using memorex cd's you should clean the dust off your glasses... and if you read my post again I said that I was able to burn a PERFECT copy earlier... it seems that I can get a good copy every once in a while... and no these were $30 for 15 disc's I live in a small town and dont have the luxery of being able to walk into a best buy or circut city for better quality discs or I would..... I could burn fine untill I was updating my machine with XP SP 2, I have disabled the IMAPI settings, blown out the drive, there is no new firmware for this drive, and have tried a few different brands of media, I am burning as slow as this drive will go....

I had an irritating problem, and I actually fixed it by going back a few versions on firmware. The new nero didnt like my new firmware, but does like my old *4 version old copy I happened to still have* firmware. Worth a try> :p

no I have a different drive, you can ussually find a version or 2 back on version tracker, or justFing google it.. ;) I have a differnt drive type, going back a version in firmware may not help you, but it helped me. Just trying to be helpful.

your drive seems to be a lite on? Perhaps the lite on site has older versions too.

another fyi.. There s only like 3 dvd manufacturers in the world. I believe gwen can correct me. maybe 4. But theres about 70 brands. or more. They sell the disk once its made and memorex or maxwell put their name on it. basically. So.. fyi I guess
