Using Nero Recode or Nero Burning Rom with latest Nero I get successful burns; but when i check the disc they are not finalized.

Does anyone have any information on this and or a way to fix this problem within Nero or software that will finalize the disc (DVD Decrypter will not finalize the session or disc)?

    Thanks in advance.

    1. In NBR, "Burn" tab there is an option to finalize the disc. If you are beginning a multisession disc, this option is not available.
    2. I don't think there is any problem with an "open" disc, except that someone could add more information to it.
    3. In ImgBurn there is an option to "close" an open disc: Tools > Drive > Close > Choose Disc, Session, Track. I haven“t used it.

    Thanks for the info.

I was aware in NBR that there is a option for "Finalizing" but it is checked and gray so i presumed it was working. I was not running a multi session. Still, disc was open. The problem with the open disc is that some dvd players will not recognize or play the disc.

This could be because of the disc format...some players only accept the +R format, some the -R format and then there's the players that accept both the +R and -R format, most players accept DVD-Rom so you can booktype your +R format discs to -ROM which is a pretty acceptable format.

    Heres a guide on booktyping

    Thanks for the info.

I understand the formatting issue and all my players accept all the formats. I do appreciate the help. Any further help would be appreciated.
