I have a problem with Nero Vision. Audio levels sound fine when I am creating the project, but when I export my project, the audio levels are all decreased. I have raised the volume levels on each individual track from 100% to 200%, and it does increase it when exported....but still isn't good enough to put on a dvd and share with people. Can someone help me please.
for some reason many people have experienced the same thing.... not just in Nero but in copying a DVD in many programs! you didn't increase the volume when you moved the slider from 100% to 200%..... that slider is for compression and it won't increase the volume.... I could be wrong but I don't think so. The only way to increase the volume of a DVD is to break down the Audio Channel and Video channel and put the audio channel in a program like Cool Edit Pro and increase the volume there and then import it back to the DVD Audio Channel and re encode the DVD with the new audio channel that was edited! It's a process .... some think it's worth it I don't! Just my opinion.... I put the sound up on the TV/surround sound system! here, read this thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/413350
After you export the project, what are you playing it with? When you say export, do you actually mean export, or burned it to the Image Recorder? Have you checked the volume slider on that device or have you checked the mixer in Windows to make sure that type of file has the volume turned up? What audio export settings have you tried?
Yes I checked the mixer and audio levels on my computer and everything looks fine. My main use of my computer(its a 3.2ghz music xpc c4)is music production, so everything on my computer is fine tuned and perfected for audio levels.I dont know what you mean by "what audio export settings have you tried" because I dont know where to find the audio export settings for Nero....but I have tried both exporting the whole project and also creating an image and both are very low volume. I have been doing what ihoe suggested, using acidpro to up the volume and then importing back into Nero...but this is very time consuming and if there was a simpler way I am all ears. For some reason with everybody elses comlaints...Im starting to think that maybe this might be a glitch/bug with Nero 7 Ultra. Thanks for helping though. If you can tell me where to find the audio levels in Nero that might be it....but like I said previously, I increased the volume slider on each track to 200% and there is a very noticable difference.....just not enough.
Audio Export -- If you really are exporting, on that page is a configure button. Click it and go to the DVD-Video tab. On the bottom is a window for audio settings which probably says Automatic. There are other choices in that window and you might try those to see if it helps. In other parts of NV4, if you click on the more button and go to Video options, you will see an audio selection there also. If the audio is really good when you have the file in NeroVision, I know of no reason it should be attentuated so much as to be insufficient for a DVD. Unless something was happening during the encoding for the DVD. If you double click the speaker icon in Windows (maybe something else for you) a mixer will open up. I was asking if you have set the individual volumes for different file types so they are all about the same, but I guess you said you did this. If you are playing it back in a set top DVD player, perhaps you might try changing the audio settings on it, to see if the audio is really low or it just sounds that way. Where are you getting your files - homemade or downloaded from somewhere? Can I download one to try? I don't suppose there is anything on your computer that is normalizing or limiting the volume some how? If you want to get the sound and put it into the wave editor, just record it from the editing page in NV4. Make sure you note where the file is being saved so you can open it in WaveEditor.
