i have three dvd recorders. all were found in older nero editions. my bios, device manager and file explorer in windows xp all find all three devices working properly but when i look in nero 8 to choose recorder, there are only the two plextor dvds why does nero fail to find one of the dvd recorders? admittedly, it is an older model than the others. i tried nero burn rights and reset it so it should give burning rights to all new drives added, but still cannot see the missing dvd drive
Have you tried removing and then reinstalling Nero? Use the Nero 8 Clean Tool and the Clean Tool for whatever version you had before and then do a fresh reinstall. There may other things at work, but that would be the logical starting point. http://www.nero.com/eng/downloads-cleantools.html Does other burning software like ImgBurn or DVD Decrypter see the drive OK? http://www.imgburn.com Do you have any other burning software installed like Roxio Media Creator or Record Now? Is any packet writing software installed like Nero InCD or Drag and Drop?
