Hello-- You were all most kind to me two years ago when I first began to burn my own DVDs, and I hope that you can help again. My DVD burner died recently, and I replaced it with a Memorex (Memorex DVD+-RAM 510L v1) dual layer external burner. I've burned nothing but coasters since. DVD Shrink seems to do its thing, then hands it off to Nero, which fails somewhere while burning. I've not yet been able to download the correct firmware or flash update, and Memorex's web site is useless on this subject. I thank you in advance for any help. I have posted a log from Nero below. Edit out your serial number before someone pirates it. Nero could use an update, both packages, from here Package 1: http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe Package 2: http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe These are not good quality discs, try Verbatim or Sony (made in japan) You have Roxio installed, it clashes with Nero, to remove, run this zapper http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml
Gwendolin-- Thanks so much for your help. Roxio is gone, Nero is updated twice. I was hoping to use up the POS blank discs, but I guess I will be buying those dual layer discs sooner than I thought. I will post back here when I've tried one of the new discs. Mike
