Hi all, I'm a newbie to all this so hopefully somebody out there can give me some advice to these problems. First of, I've been using Nero 6.3.0.2 and Nero vision express 2.1.04 to burn files to svcd. The whole nero process seems to go fine but when I play the disc on my standalone dvd player I get a column and a flashing block on the right handside of the screen but on the pc it plays back fine. I tried to use TMPGenc Plus to encode to MPEG2 and again whole progress seems to go fine but after I've burnt the encoded file to disk the dvd player only recognises the disk as a cd. Again the encoded file plays no probs on my dvd player. I'm totally lost pleases help!!!!!

Is your home dvd player SVCD compatable? Are the mpeg2 files dvd rips or seperate (internet downloads).
You'll get much better results if you're doing dvd rips>converting to mpeg2(SVCD) by using DVD2SVCD and Cinema Craft Encoder (create bin& cue files). I burn my bin& cue files at low speed with a free burning program called burnatonce.
