Hello everyone I need help with Nero I want to know how to booktype A DVD+R to rom if anyone can help thank you very much. I Use Nero 7 ultra Edition for my backup needs.
Does your drive support this, if so use the Nero Tool Kit and go into the Nero CD/DVD Speed, then choose you drive go to the extra tab then bitset and from there you can set it.
Here is a link to a guide that alkohol posted. Scroll down. He covers Booktyping using Nero. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/272946
@JXP2307 Lol, just a fast typist. Anybody want to help on this one, I am fresh out of ideas. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/309786#1818692
arniebear, you and binke look like you got it covered... I wouldn't have anything to add, y'all have said it all...
@JXP2307 Well the problems still there! If they post back take a look. I can't figure it out - unless there's more to the story. @Sentagram Here's another great guide about booktyping w/ guide to Nero and Decrypter: http://k-probe.com/bitsetting-booktype-faq.php As arniebear said your drive will need to support this. What's the make and model?
@Sentagram, follow these steps: Double click on the Nero StartSmart, then click on Nero Burning Rom under the applications tab on the left close the window that pops up/opens At the top of the window Goto/choose: Recorder-->choose Recorder Click on and highlight your recorder then click on "Options" button At the bottom you'll see "Book Type Settings" option, the default setting is "Automatic" From the dropdown menu, choose "DVD-ROM" then click ok and that's it Now (if your burner supports the feature) every time you burn using a DVD+R, DVD+RW or DVD+R DL disc, Nero will “automatically” change the Book Type into a DVD-ROM format. Note: If the burner does not support the feature, the process will fail.
Thank you everyone for the advise I will have to give it a try in a little bit here I hope it works with my drive. My DVD-RW Drive is an NEC Model Number ND-3550A so I would think it would support book typing seeing as it is a newer burner.another question I have while on the topic of book typing is Does book typing to DVD Rom make the DVD+R More compatible with DVD Players?.
@sentagram Your drive does not support booktyping (w/o maybe hacked firmware) unless it's dual layer- straight from their page on your drive: Yes booktying can make it more compatible but using quality media with the right burn speed can to. For your drive I would try 8x using Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. Older player like ( - )format better - most newer ones support both +/- formats. Check your players specs for the format.
I Appreciate your response Binkie 7 but may I ask where it is that you found out if my Drive Supports DVD-Rom because I would like to find out about other drives I have. I also respect your advise about media all though I already know about Media brands and Quality of them from research I Recently did but thank you for pionting that out.
@sentagram Here you go: http://videohelp.com/dvdwriters.php...m=&dvdrom=&orderby=Name&hits=25&Search=Search Under the connection, buffer, bit is where you can usually find the booktyping capabilities. If you click on the more info hyper link it will take to manufacturer site. From there you can usually find the info if not listed in the specs in palces like support & service, downloads etc. Here's the page from NEC: http://de.nec.de/faq.php/id/1343
Thank you for the Links Binkie 7 but according to the guy on fourth comment He states that he uses DVD+R Booktyped to rom using The NEC ND-3550 Burner and I cannot seem to see where it says anything about weather or not my drive supports booktyping can you please tell me where it states that information Thanks.
Here is the statement from NEC http://de.nec.de/faq_detail.php/id/1343/frage/585/lang/ If you want to bitset with this drive you will have to use hacked fw to do it.
@sentagram The guy in comment 4 is using 'modified/hacked' firmware that NEC does not support so user beware. Using this type of firmware will void any warranty you have on the drive. If it doesn't work you also run the risk of frying your drive. But other members here crossflash/use hacked/modified firmware w/ no problems - the choice is yours.
Thank you again Binkie for your help and advise. I decided to get the Hacked Firmware and I now have it and enjoy book typing to Rom too I like this DVD+R to Rom idea and thank you all for your help.
