    Hello,

I have installed Nero 6 and when I try and use it to burn CD's I get an error message saying that the burn process has failed. I have run a simulation burn and this completes successfully but when the actual burn process begins, the disc drive spins (you can hear the motor fire up) and the process seems to be starting but part way through the process error message appears and the drive shuts down with nothing written to the disc. I noticed that the Buffer indicator doesn't "light up", I don't know if this is relevant.

I have attached the system information as obtained by Nero tool kit which says the ASPI set up corrupted, and also the log error message.

At the moment I use SONIC DIGITAL MEDIA LE V7 - build 2.0.99a (Sonic RecordNow Audio version 3.5.1.0) to burn Audio cd's and DVD DECRYPTER version 3.5.1.0 to burn DVD's - both of which function without error.

I also have DVD Shrink and iTunes 6 (6.0.3.5 - CD driver 2.0.4.3, CD driver DLL 2.0.3.2) installed on my PC which I have yet to use to burn audio CD's.

Any advice on fixing this without affecting DVD Decrypter and DVDShrink would be much appreciated.

    Update to version 6.6.0.18 here:

    http://httpdl2.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe

Your burner doesn't like your media, try another brand.

You state that you have iTunes, this is what I primarily use to burn CD's and have had no problems with it...give it a shot.

You should update as LocoEng suggests as that version of nero is not seeing your drive and is giving it a generic listing.

You have to get that fixed also. There is a program called killaspi and it removes the aspi layer. You can get by with no system aspi, but not with a corrupted one.
Here is what AD says about ASPI layers and how to install them:
    http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/aspisetup.cfm

You may have to try the force aspi method, but if you see killaspi.bat, run that one first.
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/frcaspi.cfm

Also here is the adaptec aspi package.
    http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/su...sess=no&prodkey=ASPI-4.70&language=English+US

And a thread where we were fixing aspi.
