Recently had to junk an older Pioneer 106 DVD burner which happily bunrt discs at x2 no problems. I now only have a Pioneer 109 and 112. Both of which will only burn the exact same discs I use at a minimum of x4. Usually I wouldn't be so bothered, but my DVD player I use to play AVI's really doesn't like discs burnt at that speed. How can I force Nero to burn at a slower speed. Or can someone suggest an alternative to Nero that might do the job? Thanks

I don't think you can force Nero to go lower - it bases the burn speed on the media and drive somehow. Like if I use 16x media the lowest I can go in LiteOn's is 6x but my Pioneer the lowest like you is 4x.

Use ImgBurn- a good free burner.
It will let you pick any speed.
For non image files like a video_ts folder use the build mode.

If you're converting the avi's with Vision save to the hard drive instead and use the build mode to add the video_ts folder.
Or burn to the image recorder. Nero image file is a .nrg file. You can open that in ImgBurn in write mode.
