Ok here is the deal, I had an avi file that I wanted to burn to a disc. I used tmpgenc plus 2.5 to change the file into mpeg format, I then used shrink to compress the file, and used nero to burn(with a sony dvd+R disc! The problem is, it will not play in any of my stand alones, but it will play in my computer. My stand alone's play dvd+R media as well avi files that I encoded and burnt to a cdr. Is there something I'm doing wrong with nero?? ANy help would be great!!I just can't seem to figure out what I am doing!!!

    Hello.

If your standalone DVD player plays AVI files, then you won't need to convert it to .MPG to play it on that particular player. Not all standalone DVD players a capable of playing .MPG files by themselves, even though MPEG-2 is the DVD video format. In order to play it as a DVD video, you will need to author a DVD compilation with that MPG file before burning it to a DVDR with Nero.
